Restay Nagasaki Club - Adults Only

Getting to Huis Ten Bosch takes just under 70 minutes by highway, and central Nagasaki is less than 15 minutes away. The road outside and the parking lot are a little narrow, though even a large car can fit. I came to see the city and arrived just before 1 a.m. The staff welcomed me warmly, and I appreciated not having to worry about check-in time. I hope larger hotels learn from that kind of service. The room was somewhat small but newly renovated and very clean. There’s a welcome drink and a good range of alcohol in the lobby, plus shampoos and treatments you can take to the room. Amenities are plentiful, and the makeup station has bright lighting that women will appreciate. The new bathtub fills in just a few minutes, so I could soak without waiting. I think extra towels are available too. For a non-reservation stay, you choose a room on the large first-floor touchscreen. With a reservation, you take the elevator to the second floor and check in at the desk. Checkout and payment are at the automatic machine on the second floor.

I booked for the first time and stayed on Christmas Eve. The woman at reception, with her beige mask and cute nail design, was so kind. Even while busy, she explained the plan carefully and served me so thoughtfully that it didn’t feel like a love hotel. When I moved my car to the light parking space and headed back to my room, someone at the desk called out a kind thank you for moving it. I really appreciated how warmly they treated me.

Do not stay here. I found the shower extremely dirty, and its doorknob was rusty and broken. I got trapped in the shower room for four hours, screaming for help, but nobody came. Checkout was at 11 a.m., but no one checked on me after that. I banged on the door for a long time until the glass eventually broke and cut my foot. At 12:09 a.m., someone finally came to clean, but by then I was still trapped and had to keep shouting. In the end, I had to call an ambulance. I was bleeding in there because the maintenance staff hadn’t checked the shower door handle. It’s frightening to think what might have happened if there had been a fire or I’d been more seriously hurt. The staff were incompetent, and there was no safety management. This felt life-threatening. Absolutely do not stay here.

The building is pretty old, and the rooms smell of cigarettes. It can work for a longer stay, but you have to adjust the air conditioning yourself. I won’t return unless the price comes down.
