I’d never stayed here before, and booked a room with a private bathroom this time. I came by motorcycle and they showed me to a covered garage for parking. The room wasn’t especially spacious, but as I was using a single room alone, it was fine. The front desk staff were polite and friendly, and if I’m in this area again, I’ll definitely stay here again. It had everything I needed: Wi-Fi, TV, refrigerator, kettle, ashtray, power outlet, air conditioning, a small tea set, toothbrush, and hairdryer. I picked up instant noodles at the nearby supermarket and only then realized there were no chopsticks. That may be my fault for being used to convenience stores. Maybe I could have asked at the front desk, but I didn’t, so I don’t know. Room only.

We were very satisfied with the affordable price, and parking right outside our room was a big help. I stayed with my elementary school-aged son. The room had tatami mats, and the futons were already laid out. Check-in was minimal, just payment and facility use information. Check-out was easy too: we were told to put the key in the mailbox at [location]. We’ll definitely stay here again when we visit Nagato.

It’s an old place, but somehow has a calming feel. You can come and go as you would in an apartment, and it seems some guests stay long term, with cleaning services available. The room has a toilet, shower, toothbrush, towels, tea, sleepwear, TV, and air conditioning. If you’re not after luxury, it’s enough. There’s a coop nearby, but the selection is limited and a bit expensive, so it doesn’t feel like good value. Apparently there’s also a Grand Jetée in Hagi.

I stayed in a room with two shared toilets and two showers. When I went to shower, a stranger came over saying, “I forgot something.” I gave a small bow and went in, but it seems he took the Crocs I’d been wearing while I was in the shower. I only noticed the next morning, after I’d unconsciously gone back to my room in one of the hotel slippers that were lined up there. The front desk had no phone, so I called the police. They told me walking out in hotel slippers would count as theft, and I wondered if I’d have to go barefoot. The alarm from my neighbor in the shared shower kept going off. The next morning, I noticed him opening the door, hurried over, and called the suspicious man in the neighboring room, “E.” Sure enough, my Crocs were there with his shoes. I quickly picked them up and said, “They’re mine!” He answered, “Oh, thanks.” Somehow that felt disappointing. Still, personally, there was nothing wrong with the stay. It was clean, and I only went there to sleep, so I think it was a great place to stay. Thank you!
