Umi No Terrace Yomitan Toya

This place is seriously underrated, and it’s affordable. Our suite had its own jacuzzi, and there’s a quiet, private beach or cove. They also offer free-flowing drinks, including Johnny walker and other spirits, plus snacks like Magdalene's and Okinawan donuts, with the selection changing every day. What more could you ask for?

We had a pleasant stay at this very nice Japanese-western hotel with a sea view. The breakfast was wonderful, and there’s private access to the beach. Staff speak English, and there’s coin laundry. They use tableware from a very well-known Japanese brand. Yomitan fish market is nearby and definitely worth checking out. Thank you for your hospitality.

The staff were welcoming, helpful, and very nice. We didn’t have a Japanese phone number, so making calls ourselves would have been nearly impossible without spending a fortune. They helped us book restaurants and call taxis. The rooms were nice and clean. In both rooms we stayed in, there was a whirlpool on the balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel is a bit out of the way, so I’d recommend renting a car for a longer stay, though you can get there by taxi. The beach is right in front of the hotel, a two-minute walk from the lobby. It’s called “private,” but anyone can reach it, even if it’s not very accessible to people outside the hotel, so keep that in mind. The hotel provides towels, a small rubber boat for kids, and paddle surfboards, which is nice. There’s also a pool, but it isn’t very deep. At 1.85m, I had to be careful not to hit the bottom when getting in, even without jumping.

The team at Umi No Terrace Yomitan Toya was consistently kind and accommodating. The facilities were very clean and relaxing, and the room was spacious with a comfortable bed, good shower pressure, and hot water. The cherry on top was the balcony jacuzzi, overlooking the sea and a fishing port. There’s also a microwave, washing machines, and a dryer on the floor, which was handy. You can rent SUPs, a kayak, snorkeling gear, and bicycles for free. Drinks and snacks are available free-flow from 15:00 to 21:00, and breakfast is abundant, with three options that alternate. Highly recommend!
