Mystays Nishi Shinjuku Hotel

The location gives you an easy walk to Shinjuku Station while keeping you away from its hectic atmosphere. There’s good shopping, restaurants, and beauty services nearby, and it’s well placed for visiting Tokyo’s main districts. The windows are frosted for privacy, and the hotel is next to a peaceful cemetery, which helps keep things quiet. My room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and strong AC. It was spacious by Tokyo hotel standards, and the small couch was handy for opening large suitcases. The bathroom has a raised step, which is an unusual part of the layout. Complimentary toiletries, toothbrushes, towels, and slippers are available at the front desk. The coin washer and dryer on one of the floors had no wait during my stay. Most of the staff spoke English well and were friendly. They’ll store luggage after checkout, but late checkout is charged by the hour. Good value if you want a clean, convenient Shinjuku base without the noise.

I felt safe walking alone late at night. The hotel was clean and convenient, with rooms in good condition, friendly and helpful staff, and easy transport within walking distance of the metro.

A quiet spot in Shinjuku, but still very close to the JR East Entrance of Shinjuku Station. The hotel is small and nicely located, and the service was excellent. Breakfast stood out: set menus with delicious, healthy food, including vegan options. We were a large group with an early Shinkansen departure, and the restaurant head kindly opened earlier for us. Exceptional service!

There’s a charming kissaten cafe around the corner, lots of restaurants nearby, and Lawson, 7-11, and Family Mart are all close. The Yamanote JR line is accessible, but it’s about a 10-minute walk, and you need to take the right exit at Shinjuku station. Our double room was compact, with just enough space to open our luggage, but it had the essentials. It smelled a little musty, though daily cleaning helped. Getting into the tub meant stepping over spaced-out tiles, almost like a Jenga move. I liked the slippers and robe in the room, and the staff were friendly. They can also hold luggage if you arrive before check-in.
