Rin (the dog) is adorable and friendly, and sitting on the terrace at night under all those stars was amazing. I’d been browsing for somewhere to stay in Kouri when a place with good comments and a dog photo on Google caught my eye, so I booked without hesitation. After one night, I can say I loved it. The owner was kind and did her best to help us, even though we couldn’t communicate easily. Definitely recommend!
Back in 2014, before the rooms were refurbished, I stayed here with my partner. The host family welcomed us so warmly and even invited us to a family barbecue. It remains our best memory of Okinawa. I hope we can return soon!

The rooms are clean and a relaxing place to unwind. At night, you can head up to the rooftop for a sky full of stars. This inn is right at the top of the island, with a fantastic view. While chatting on the veranda, the couple who run it told us all about Kouri Island. We even went for a walk with Rin-kun, their Shiba Inu mix.
We spent three nights and four days here as a family of four, with two children in elementary school, and found it a lovely place to relax. The kids enjoyed walks in the Okinawan scenery in the morning and evening, while we could grab Okinawa soba or visit a cafe during the day, then shop at a local supermarket in the evening. Rin, the owner, and the dog were fun to spend time with too. From the rooftop of the detached building, you can see the Janglia fireworks, as well as beautiful stars, sunrises, and sunsets. Tokei Beach is only a few minutes away by car, so you can snorkel before heading back. Janglia is 30 minutes away, and you can either go directly there or stop at the affiliated AEON Nago. Almost makes me want to keep this place to ourselves (lol).
