The view was excellent, and the space was nice. There were a bit too many bugs, but that’s where they live, so you just have to deal with it. The place is far enough from the city crowds without being such a long drive back after a day of sightseeing. Big thanks to the staff member Noriaki Gushi, who helped sort out my delayed luggage shipment, which was entirely my fault. They stayed in touch with Yamato for me, and that was really good service.

The room was really good and great value, but the check-in process was a headache. We booked through Agoda, and the hotel sent a self check-in guide with a link that Agoda kept blocking, so we couldn’t register. We ended up calling customer service to get the password. A friend ran into the same issue a couple of years ago, and it still hasn’t been fixed.

The view was great, and the rooms felt very private, though the price was high. The sign isn’t easy to spot, so keep watch or you might miss the place. We ordered room service from an Indian restaurant, but the food wasn’t that good, so bringing your own food on the way up may be better. The room should suit a small family, although the walkways are a bit narrow.

Snorkelling from the beach below was the highlight for me. The view was spectacular, one of the best I’ve seen. The room was small but fine for two or three people, and the deck bathtub was really cool. The pool didn’t look huge, but I can’t say much about it since I didn’t swim there. The amenities were solid. I found a couple of tiny fruit flies tucked under the pillow when I first pulled back the covers. I brushed them away and had no more trouble, and in a tropical place bugs are hard to avoid. I had a great stay and would recommend it to anyone who likes the beach and wants to try snorkelling.
