The view alone made the stay worthwhile, and we had a lovely romantic evening thanks to the kind hosts. Our room was huge and very clean, with a tatami sitting area. The bathroom and toilet are shared. The only awkward part was having to go downstairs and walk through the whole house to get to the shower.

Bikes were available, and the location worked well for getting to the island bus loop, ferries, and museum buses. We stayed one night and enjoyed it. The rooms are quiet and basic, with shared bathrooms, and the host was friendly and helpful when we arrived. I’d recommend it to travelers who are fine with simple accommodations.

The host was very friendly, though he only speaks Japanese. We had no trouble with that, and he even drove us to the ferry. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom and toilet clean, and there were fresh white towels available. There was cold water in a working fridge and air-conditioning in the bedroom.

We’d stay again if we returned to Naoshima. It’s a very convenient spot, with two tasty local restaurants just a couple of minutes away on foot. The place was spotless, the beds comfortable, and the people very friendly. Having bikes available was a bonus for exploring the island.
