We really liked our traditional tatami room, and the location made it easy to get around. The train station is a short walk away, shops and restaurants are nearby, and Nara park is walkable too. There's even a daifuku shop right out front with delicious mochi in several flavours. Ryokan Hakuhou is a cozy little place, with onsens, a manga rest area, and a massage chair anyone can use for free. The owner and staff were kind. There was a language barrier, but he knew some English and was very accommodating, including helping us transfer our luggage.

We had a comfortable, enjoyable stay at this cute ryokan guesthouse, between JR Nara Station and the well-known Nara Park. The rooms have tatami floors and a classic Japanese feel, and there's a shared bath. It's cash only, though there's a 7-Eleven across the street if you need one.

The rooms were comfortable, with futons, a little table, TV, and air conditioner. There's a washing machine on site. For 500 yen you can get soap and use it, then hang your clothes to dry on the lip around the room. The lobby has a nice massage chair, and apparently the shared bathing areas are proper onsen. Ryokan Hakuhou is a very nice traditional inn, and I'd stay again if I'm in the Nara area.

The rooms were nice, and the inn was in a great place for seeing a lot of Nara. I was looking for a traditional Japanese-style inn and it lived up to that. We enjoyed the onsen every day after being out sightseeing. I'd come back if I visit Nara again.

A fun ryokan, right along the road between Nara Station and Nara Park. The owner is friendly and speaks a little English. There's also a luggage elevator, so getting to a room on the second or third floor is no worry.
