The goat Masao was adorable and so well behaved. The caretaker couple were warm, kind, and polite, and the building itself was beautiful and quaint. There’s lovely nature around it, with a river nearby and a starry sky at night. It’s a place that can make really precious memories on a family trip or training camp!

The owner’s commitment to having no TV or Wi-Fi impressed me! ^^ The vegetables he grew organically himself were delicious, and the baby goats were friendly and cute. The house has been recreated just as it was in the past, with old-fashioned solid pillars and beams, and feels like a truly traditional home.

We had a wonderful time cooking in the earthen-floored kitchen and eating around the hearth. It got everyone talking. Our dog came along, and the owners let us bring him into the earthen-floor area so we could eat together, which became a fond memory. The owners were very kind and shared home-grown vegetables and other warm hospitality. Masao the goat was adorable and calming too. The 105-year-old traditional Japanese house is beautiful and charming. It was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend staying here!

Room only is the best! You can rent an entire 104-year-old traditional Japanese house with a thatched roof. The price including meals is amazing!

The toilets are clean. I really like the roof, it looks great, and the thick beams are wonderful.
