glampark Akasawa Onsen Tochigi

After skiing in Hakuba, soaking in the beautiful natural onsen eased our tiredness and sore muscles from the trip. The inn's food and service were great, and our daughter had fun with the friendly cats around the property. We also enjoyed chatting with the welcoming owners after dinner each night and hearing about local history, stories, and places to visit. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a traditional Japanese style and modern touches. We'll definitely return.

The pets around the property made our stay especially memorable. We had a six-person lodge, which gave us a private ryokan of our own, and there was also a public onsen. I'd recommend it :)

We had a hire car and used this as a base for exploring, which worked perfectly. Breakfast sounded delicious, and we wished we'd included it since places in Japan open late, especially for us early risers. The owner was so warm, kind, and helpful, and the hotel's onsen was beautiful. Our traditional room was spacious, lovely, and clean, with tatami beds that were incredibly comfortable. We had our best night's sleep in Japan so far. Such a beautiful stay, highly recommend!

The only hiccup was that our room was overheated, but they sorted it out quickly. Apart from that, the stay was comfortable and relaxing. The host speaks English fluently and really cares about how you're doing. We enjoyed the pond view from the lounge, cuddled the cats, and had delicious, carefully prepared dinner and breakfast. The onsen was great too, and lukewarm didn't mean we were cold in it 😄. Since we were there on our honeymoon, they even gave us an extra dessert.
