The tonkatsu was amazing, and the service was so good. Thanks for a great meal!

The rooms are simple but comfortable, with a big 1.6-meter-wide bed, and every room has a new private bathroom. This pension in Kinugawa Onsen is great value, with an excellent restaurant that’s delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner was very kind and drove us to our next hotel for free because the taxi we called would have taken more than 15 minutes to arrive. Highly recommend.

My wife, three friends, and I stayed here last week. We were very happy with the rooms, and the location is ideal, just a short walk from the train station. The meals were excellent: lots of variety, tasty, generous portions, and very reasonably priced. Our best memory was the marvelous host, though I’m sorry I didn’t get her name.

We found this place while wandering around Nikko looking for food after the ramen restaurant had closed. It looked a bit lifeless at first, but turned out to be a hotel with a small restaurant. The chef, waiter, and probably owner was the same person, and he made excellent, fresh, tasty tonkatsu plates. We were really pleased. The meal was a great find that saved our day, and ¥1100/set was a great price for what we got. I might book a room here next time I visit Nikko. Strongly recommend.
