The host’s kindness made this stay unforgettable. When I arrived, there was a welcome sign at the entrance with my name and “Welcome to Nikko.” It was a small touch but really thoughtful. She took time to explain local attractions using a map she’d prepared for us, and her warmth and attentiveness stood out. The Japanese-style room was cozy and nicely arranged, with soft futon bedding, a heater, and even a heated mattress. I slept warmly and comfortably. She also surprised us with a free, delicious breakfast that made me feel at home. Before we left, she gave me a hand-folded origami crane with a message wishing me good luck on my journey. Such a simple gesture, but it felt sincere. Nikko Stay House ARAI gave us a real sense of connection and kindness.

We were looking for a traditional Japanese-style house and chose Arai Stay House after reading its many good reviews. We stayed two nights in Nikko, and the place is very clean and comfortable. It’s extremely close to Nikko Station, and the owner gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. She was so kind and shared information about local sights and a map of Nikko City. She also prepared free breakfast for us on both mornings. It was delicious and generous. I highly recommend staying here. If I come back to Nikko, I’ll definitely return. The place was clean, and it’s easy to get around Nikko on foot from here. We had a comfortable short stay, made especially memorable by the sweet owner. She made us feel so welcome, cooked us delicious breakfasts, and gave us gifts. We won’t forget her warm hospitality.

Staying with Ms. Mariko at Arai House was fantastic. She’s an amazing host, full of positive energy and genuine care. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and easy to follow, and she gave us great local tips. The traditional Japanese-style rooms were inviting, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. She also made us a delicious breakfast with generous portions, then even drove us to the bus stop so we could make the most of our sightseeing. The location is excellent, a short walk from the train station and about four minutes from a 7/11 and WELCIA pharmacy. We enjoyed every minute and highly recommend the place. If we return to Nikko, it’ll be our first choice.

Ms. Mariko was one of the most accommodating and friendly hosts I’ve met. She welcomed us warmly and shared lots of thoughtful recommendations. The traditional Japanese-style rooms were comfortable and tidy. It’s a quick walk to the train station, and just four minutes from a pharmacy and 7/11. I’d stay at Arai House again if I make it back to Nikko. Highly recommend!
