This quiet guesthouse is tucked away, and I'd happily use it again when I visit Tanegashima. There's room for families and pets, with pets allowed for 500 yen a night. Both the living room and bedroom have air conditioning, and there are two beds. I liked the roomy bath, where I could stretch out, and its reheating function. Cooking gear is well supplied, but there aren't many condiments, so it's a good idea to shop after arriving. Getting there involves some mountain roads, so I wouldn't recommend taking a wide car.

In the evenings, the stars were out, with birds calling and the wind and waves in the background. It left me feeling refreshed. Hideaway is a rental lodge in Kunigami, in the northwest of Tanegashima, close to surfing and sea glass spots as well as many power spots. I could cook and work there, thanks to the plentiful kitchen equipment and Wi-Fi, and see the island from different angles.

The dog walking paths were lovely, and getting out on them made us feel close to nature, almost like we were back in the wild. The room up north was spotless and had everything we needed for a stay with our pet. The owners are a really nice couple. At night, even the tiniest stars were visible, and I wanted to keep looking at them. 💦´•mouth•`🐾 🌟❣️😅
