I stayed for one night and had a great time. After a long day on my motorbike, I could relax and enjoy the hotel’s onsen. I went after dinner, when it was open until 23.30, and had it all to myself. Dinner was delicious and there was plenty of it. The rooms and public spaces are smoke-free.

The room had a nice view, the beach is close, and the bedding was clean. There’s a kids’ room too, nothing special, but children will probably enjoy it, along with the food and beach. If you’re stuck for somewhere to stay, Hamayu will do, but once was enough for me. The place feels old, with rusted and faded areas, and the meals weren’t tasty. There are smoking areas all over, including close to communal spaces. I’d love to see the place after a renovation.

Whatever I tried, the texture, temperature, and flavor all came together perfectly. This really was three flavors working as one. I haven’t met him, but thank you, head chef Hitoshi Okada! This place is unbelievable. The food is so delicious, and every detail is thoughtful. I’ve been to a fancy kaiseki restaurant at Palace Hotel next to the emperor’s house in Tokyo, where it cost me more than 30,000 yen, but this place was worth even more to me. If you think you know how to enjoy Japanese kaiseki, you should try it.

The food was great and there was a lot of it. The beach is right behind the facility, which is great when it isn’t covered with garages like it is now. The bath was okay too. The facility itself is fine, though a bit stiff and formal. It seems like it may have been a training center repurposed for tourists.

The breakfast, facilities, and everything else were below average. I couldn’t find a single selling point here, and it wasn’t worth the money. Wouldn’t recommend.
