The food lived up to the hype, especially the boat-shaped platter with a large spiny lobster as the centerpiece. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the care in the other dishes came through too. Breakfast’s spiny lobster miso soup was so good it impressed me. The price for such a generous meal and stay felt especially reasonable with prices rising these days. It was my first guesthouse stay, and I’d expected less of the room because food was my main interest. But the old Japanese-style room was clean and tidy, and I could relax there. The building has a lovely old-fashioned feel. I’d forgotten my face wash, and the landlady kindly lent me hers. I also got to take an early morning walk by the sea.
