Ab Hotel Osaka Sakaisuji-hommachi

The location worked well for getting to transit, markets, and bars, and the water pressure was good. The room and bathroom were a reasonable size and generally clean. We did find questionable stains on the mattress topper when we stripped the bed, though. The pillow in the room was small and flat, but reception gave us an extra when we asked. There were two racks with hangers. We skipped the Onsen because it wasn’t tattoo friendly. Breakfast was pretty standard, about what you’d expect with the room.

The convenient location and clean room were good, but the front desk service was disappointingly rude. We asked for another pillow and were told our room was for five people, so they could only give us five. We explained that there were three of us and wanted one more for comfort. The staff member lost patience, yelled, and insisted there’d be no extra pillow. I’d never had a hotel refuse such a simple request before. It left me feeling that AB Hotel’s service might vary by guests’ ethnicity, with non-Asian customers treated more favorably. And the hot spring is just a small pool of hot water, so don’t bother.

The room was really big, with a bed for two, and the bathroom and tub were separate. The window had a great outside view. You can get to pretty much everything nearby, including 7 100, a combini, restaurants, shops, and bars. The staff were friendly and professional, which is why I gave the hotel five stars. It was great.

Breakfast was good, the room was clean, and the price was reasonable.
