APA Hotel Osaka Tanimachi 4chome Ekimae

Stayed one night on 9th November. The front desk staff were fantastic, the price was reasonable for the value, and I liked the breakfast.

The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well, so those parts of the stay were fine. The problem was the trash. After three nights, the two bins by the bed were full, and housekeeping cleaned the room but left the two extra bags we'd made. When we came back from a city tour, there was a note saying they only empty trash that's inside the bins. I don't understand why they wouldn't just take the bags as part of cleaning. I crushed the bottles to fit them in the bins, but we still left four water bottles and McDonald's breakfast rubbish on the counter when we checked out. It felt like we were expected to clean the room ourselves.

The staff were helpful, though check-in had some technical problems. My room was very small, and whenever I kept the window shut, there was a damp, musty smell. I understand that tattoo restrictions at public baths are a general cultural issue in Japan, but I still see refusing entry to people with tattoos as discrimination, and I oppose it.

The metro station right by the hotel is a big plus, and the staff were kind and helpful. The spaces are tiny and feel crowded, especially the rooms. Breakfast choices are limited, and at busy times the elevator queues get long.
