The laundry was a poor experience: it ruined a couple of my light-colored shirts, and several runs on the dryer setting, two hours in total, cost money without drying our clothes at all. The complimentary rooftop spa and sauna for women was another one-time visit for us, since the corridor to the rooftop pool smelled strongly of feet. We also found the $55-per-person executive lounge crowded and overrated, with only a small selection of snacks and drinks. The breakfast buffet was so packed that finding a seat was difficult. We skipped most of it and got sandwiches from the konbini downstairs for a less stressful start to vacation days. Finding the right elevator to the hotel's reception floor was frustrating when we were tired from travel, since there were hardly any signs in the building. Our corner room was very small, and having the bathroom right in front of the entrance with no privacy glass made no sense to me. I don't recommend this hotel. At best, it felt like a 4-star hotel.

The building itself is beautiful and deserves every star. The rooms were spotless, cleanliness throughout was impeccable, and the onsen was breathtaking. It felt like a luxury property, but two service problems left a sour taste. At lunch, even though we'd paid for the buffet, an unfriendly staff member told us all the window tables, at least 20 of them, were reserved. It felt like blatant discrimination, as if tourists were deliberately seated in the worst section while the prime window seats were kept exclusively for Japanese guests. Being told hotel guests had to book a window table a month in advance was unacceptable. We were paying guests, not walk-ins from the street. I also couldn't get an iron for three days. From the first day, I was told none were available, and heard the same answer each day. Only on my last day, after I made a fuss, did someone bring one to my room, and there was no ironing board. It shouldn't have taken that much. The hotel is genuinely lovely, but the service falls short of its five-star promise.
The skyline views and onsen were the highlights for me. The spa and pool areas are gender-separated and nude, as in many traditional Japanese spas, so it's good to know that beforehand if you're not used to it. Once you get comfortable with it, it can feel freeing and very relaxing. Candeo Hotels Osaka The Tower is comfortable, stylish, and practical, with surprisingly spacious rooms and everything we needed, from toiletries and slippers to dressing gowns. It feels luxurious without being over the top, and the laundry was useful while traveling. The location is wonderfully central, with Osaka right at our doorstep. A few little logistics took some getting used to: there's no traditional concierge, you handle your own luggage to and from the street, and room service doesn't really seem to be a thing. The cafe and bar were hit and miss, and lifts could be quite slow, probably due to the number of guests using them. None of those things spoiled the stay. I'd absolutely return. It made exploring Osaka easy and felt seamless and luxurious once we understood the local differences and the hotel's style. Highly recommended as a central base.
The spa was decent and had a nice view, and the staff were pleasant. The location was good too, near the metro and train. Still, this didn't feel like a five-star hotel, and I wouldn't recommend it for a luxury stay in Osaka. We stayed in a Luxury Corner King room for our honeymoon, but it was smaller than expected and the toilet was like a tiny closet. The washer and dryer damaged two white shirts with stains from the machine or detergent, and the dryer didn't work. Our clothes were still wet after two hours, even after we switched machines. The hotel refunded what we'd paid for drying. The lounge was self-service, with just a handful of mediocre drinks and snacks, and not worth the price. Whenever I needed something like a towel or bottle of water, I had to go to reception myself, which didn't feel like the service of an expensive five-star hotel.
The place felt really clean, luxe, and professional, and the staff and service were fantastic. I didn't take photos of the spa, but it was really nice. There's a coin laundry on the top floor, 31F, where a full wash and dry cost 700 yen. They serve breakfast too, though I skipped it since it seemed a bit pricey compared with other places around Osaka. I'd definitely stay here again.
