The owner agreed to give us a full refund after we showed him the dirt, so we left. He tried to move us to his upstairs apartment, but it turned out the same “cleaning person” had done that one too. The owner wasn’t friendly or helpful. He seemed stressed and kept looking out the window to see if he was getting a parking ticket. This was the worst place of our three-month trip. We had to leave right away and find somewhere else because the apartment was so dirty. The bathroom, fridge, and kitchen were all dirty, and the whole place was very dusty. We’d paid before taking a detailed look because of the strong reviews on Booking, which was our mistake. We called Booking, and they contacted the owner, who came back to see the mess. Unfortunately Booking marked our stay as a no-show, so I couldn’t post my review there. I hope this honest review helps someone here.
There’s no reception, but the owner was kind and the service was great. The rooms were spacious, with plenty of room for recreation. We had a great stay.
I loved the bathroom, it was big, spacious, and clean, and there’s a convenience store nearby with a nice cafe right below the accommodation. The neighborhood is neat and pleasant, about a five-minute walk from Uehonmachi Station, though Dotonbori is a bit far. The room is roomy and has the daily necessities, but the dust and air freshener smell were a real ordeal. It’s closer to an Airbnb than a hotel, with no reception, so you have to arrange with the manager to get the key.
The room was nothing like the one shown online, and the whole experience ruined my trip. I want my money back. They should have explained what the ninth-floor room was like instead of making it seem all the rooms were clean. When I called the inquiry number, I got the wrong person. This felt like a scam. Be careful and check the room number before booking. 901 is unacceptable. They said one room was available during Golden Week, so I booked room 901. There was a picture of the room by the entrance, but no 901, which confused me. I went up to the ninth floor, and when the elevator opened at the top, there were cleaning supplies. Inside, the room looked hastily put together, just a bed, sofa, and desk. No TV, refrigerator, washing machine, or microwave. Gross!
The place was affordable, and I liked having a lot of space by Japanese standards. I was on the seventh floor and the view was great. The environment was very pleasant, so I’d stay here again if I visited. There’s a bus stop three minutes away with buses to Osaka Castle, Umeda, and Harukas. The downside is they come only once or twice an hour and stop after 9 PM. The subway station is a 15-minute walk. Think of this as an Airbnb, not a hotel. There’s no reception, so I had to call from the entrance to get the password. It’s managed by a Chinese person, and I communicated in English and Japanese, but check-in took 30 minutes.
