It did what we needed, but I wouldn't choose this hotel again. Our twin room was very cramped, with no real storage and a desk that was too crowded to use properly. The hanging space was there, but the layout made it hard to use. My bed was right by the window, and the curtain hung so close that it intruded into my sleeping space. We were given fresh towels and supplies in a bag left outside the door. There was only one room key. I've stayed in plenty of compact hotels in Japan, so the size itself wasn't a big surprise.

There wasn't anywhere to sit and unwind except on the bed, since the hotel has no chair areas. Our first room had two single beds pushed together and no floor space for suitcases. After I told reception we couldn't manage in there, they offered another very small room, with a roughly 1m x 1.5m space for a case. But it was in front of the main door and bathroom, so there wasn't room to open the case. After two weeks in Japan, we needed a place to relax, and this hotel didn't provide that.

The room faced the main road, so there was some noise at night, though it wasn't too bad. Staff were really friendly, and there's a cafe downstairs for breakfast. It's a short walk to Osaka castle, with some very good local Izakayas nearby. The location is a little odd, but sits between quite a few places. They also sell extra amenities in the lobby. I was charged 1000¥ at check-in, which I think may be related to upcoming tourism changes in Japan.

The washroom was a highlight, and the room was very clean and a decent size for one person. There are lots of places to eat and convenience stores nearby, plus a laundromat close by. We got a warm welcome and great service as soon as we arrived. You can also borrow manga for free, though the books are in Japanese. I'd happily recommend staying here.

This was a handy and affordable base for my day trips around Kansai. It’s close to Umeda Station and the Osaka Metro, and the service was great. My room was also very clean and well maintained. Glad I chose it.
