Henn na Hotel Osaka Namba

I was disappointed, especially since I’ve been happy with the service at other Henn Na hotels. The walls seem paper-thin. During my three-night stay, the neighbor’s snoring woke me every night. It was so loud it felt like they were in my room. They also didn’t replenish the toilet paper, and I ran out. The location is good, within a five-minute walk of dotonbori and lots of nearby shops, restaurants and convenience stores.

The location is great and the room was clean, so you get what you paid for in those respects. But the service was bad. The safe wouldn’t work after I tried several times, so I went downstairs for help. A Japanese guy, skinny and wearing glasses, had a questionable attitude and said I must have entered the wrong passcode. I had to repeat that I’d tried multiple times. It seemed obvious to me that he didn’t want to help, and I felt frustrated. Please teach your employee to help customers when they ask, without arguing first. To the guy who eventually helped with a shitty attitude, you’re paid to do your job. Do it properly.

The staff were very helpful, and the location alone makes this worth recommending. The room was small by US standards, which is typical here. It was hard to find an open slot for the coin laundry, since eight floors may have only two machines to share.

The dinosaurs handled check-in, which was cool, and it was easy to reach a human if needed. The rooms are small, but the theming is great fun. I loved the area, with shops and great food close by. It has a great vibe.
