Hotel Kansai

The price was very budget-friendly compared with nearby hotels, and getting around was easy on foot to both Higashi-Umeda Metro Station and JR Osaka Station. The room was clean and comfortable enough for a short trip. I'd suggest booking a “Renovated Room” for a better experience, since they have new and old buildings. Check-in and check-out are self-service through an automatic system, with staff only stepping in for emergencies. I couldn't find my booking at first; staff explained that I needed to enter my full first and last name together without a space. Just entering one name won't bring it up. Leaving luggage after checkout costs 500 yen per bag. There are bars and izakayas all around, so it can be noisy around 10:00-11:00 PM, then it quiets down. Sometimes you can hear people talking in the hallway. The bathtub is quite small. I'm 160 cm tall, and even for me it was snug.

Go down the street to any other hotel. Once past check-in, the hallways and rooms were disgusting. There were water stains and marks everywhere, visible mold, dirt, and grime. I even found blood on my pillow. When I pulled down the blanket, hair covered the bed. The walls are paper-thin, and the lock on our friend's room didn't work, as if someone had forced it open. It felt unsafe and uncomfortable.

The front desk staff seemed annoyed, and the vending machines weren't working. The beds were uncomfortable, with springs digging into my back, and there were poo stains on the room carpet.

EF tours placed me here, and I found the hotel disappointing. Water marks covered the peeling walls, the floors were dirty, and the hallways had a scary movie feel to them.
