The bed was comfortable, the towels were clean, and the shower had all the supplies I needed. The bathroom was small but worked well, and I slept without hearing housekeeping in the other rooms. There were plenty of downsides, though. My room was small enough that I had to block the tiny hallway to unpack, then step over my suitcase to get through, and there was no water in the minibar. A bottle wouldn't cost the hotel anything. After a long journey, I told them I had just arrived and they confirmed my reserved room was available, but still made me wait until check-in time. Foreign tourists would normally be given information about the city and places to visit, but nobody offered me any. They also got my nationality wrong on the check-in form, and I had to correct it myself. I'm glad I didn't choose breakfast, since the whole hotel smelled of pork from 6 a.m.

The staff were polite and really helpful, and the location was good. The room was very small, with only about 50 cm around the bed, so luggage leaves you little space. Using the toilet might be challenging if you're over 170 cm tall. Breakfast was just okay. We preferred buying food at the nearby markets, where it's cheap and there's a good selection.

The staff were a highlight, friendly and very accommodating, and luggage storage was handy for us. We stayed at Hotel Shinsaibashi for almost five days. The amenities were complete, though all kept on the ground floor. Our room was quite small, with little space for luggage, especially when packing. The restroom was tight too and may be uncomfortable for people with larger body types.

You can borrow board games, and the staff were very helpful. The lobby had a lively feel, while the rooms were comfortable. The neighborhood itself was quiet, but the main street was close by, with beautiful winter illuminations.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the hotel is in a very good location. Just check the bathroom size before booking if you need more than about 40 cm of legroom. Ours was really tiny, so it may be fine if you're small.
