Hotel Shinpoin Osaka

I booked this at around 11 PM on the day we arrived, after being scammed by the hotel we’d originally booked, and it was a huge relief. The receptionist was kind and even suggested booking through Agoda if the app price was cheaper than booking directly. Our room was spacious and clean enough for all five suitcases to be open at once, and it was excellent value. The area was peaceful, and we enjoyed the walks to and from Momodani Station, about a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway. There’s also a FamilyMart nearby, plus a bus stop, baseball field, and playground. I’d stay here again on my next Osaka visit.

The room worked well for four friends who didn’t mind sleeping together in one room. Getting anywhere from here takes some effort, whether walking or using the metro. If a 30-40 minute trip doesn’t bother you, it could still be a good fit.

The staff were helpful and very nice, and both the room and bathroom were spotless. The bed was really comfortable, and the room felt heated, with hot water too. It had the feel of a new hotel and was good value. The location is decent, though a little distance from the city. The station is a short walk away, so it’s manageable.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating, and they can arrange luggage forwarding. It’s a basic, adequate hotel, a little out of the way, with simple rooms and basic amenities. The nearest station is a 12-minute walk, while Shin sekai and shitennoji are about 20 minutes away on foot. There’s a cooktop in the room, but cooking utensils are in short supply, so you might need to bring your own.
