I’ve liked this hotel enough to book it for my clients, and the customer service online has been great. In person, a few staff members fell a little short, though overall we had a good stay. The standard twin room was spacious in the bathroom, but there was no window. It felt extremely claustrophobic, especially since the booking option showed a large window, which was misleading. The AC smelled horribly moldy when we switched it on, but the smell went away in about 10 minutes. I liked the small amenities downstairs and the quiet neighborhood, which was much calmer than Namba would have been. I can recommend it if you want somewhere quiet and clean.

The location is about 1 km, or a 15-20 minute walk, from Dotonbori. Some may find that a little far, but it suited us because we wanted a quieter spot away from the crowds. If you want a big room, it’s a good option. We loved our stay at Hotel The Leben. The room was huge compared with typical rooms in Japan, and the bathroom was spacious too. Everything was clean and had the amenities we needed, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. They left bottled water for us and gave us chocolates as a welcome gift. The lobby is large and offers free coffee and refreshments, along with free toiletries. Service was great. The receptionist was nice, check-in and checkout went smoothly, and we were allowed to leave our luggage there three days before check-in while we traveled first to Kyoto.

My one small complaint was that the room sometimes felt a bit warm. Even so, I’d happily return for its comfort, space, and convenient location. Hotel The Leben Osaka felt modern and well cared for, with a clean room that was larger than you usually find in Osaka. I liked the family-friendly layout, useful storage, sleek bathroom, and the newer, polished feel of the property. The staff were friendly and helpful, and it was easy to get around with the station, Dotonbori, and shopping areas all a short walk away.

We had a four-person room with plenty of space, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. In the room, they provided water and refilled it daily, along with soap, a hairbrush, a toothbrush, and other amenities. In the lobby there was coffee, tea, and hot soup. Laundry rooms and microwaves were on clearly marked floors. It’s a great hotel for a first visit to Japan. Shinsaibashi shopping and Dotonbori nightlife are an easy walk away, and Osaka Castle is about a 30-minute walk.

Getting around with our family was easy. The train station was close, there was a 7-Eleven just steps away, and lots of good restaurants within walking distance. We walked to the nearest shopping center with our toddler, about 15 minutes, and it was a beautiful stroll. The four of us had a wonderful stay. Our room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with room to relax after exploring. Amenities were great for both adults and kids, including daily free amenities, coffee, and bottled water. We’d absolutely choose this hotel again next time we’re in Japan.
