iloha Hostel Namba Shinsaibashi

Finding the place can be tricky. It’s tucked beside a Family Mart, you have to go inside to use the lift to level 3, and there’s only a tiny sign on the main street, so it’s easy to miss. Once inside, though, everything felt very clean, even to me, someone particular about cleanliness. The mixed dorm cubicles each have a curtain big enough to block people’s view. The shared toilets are divided into shower, wash basin, and toilet areas, and they’re clean and nice. They provide toothpaste, but no toothbrush. There are tea bags, a microwave, boiled water, slippers, and one power plug in each cubicle. A body towel costs 100 yen to rent.

My 11pm check-in was quick, and I was shown straight to my bed. They gave me a key for a personal locker to keep valuables in. The sleeping area was peaceful, with comfortable beds and blankets, and each cubicle had a ceiling lamp, charging port, and foldable table. There was also a shared luggage area. The women’s toilets were clean and roomy, with 3 showers and 5 WC. I slept right through my alarm, and it was a really nice stay. The location is near Shinsaibashi shopping street and the clubs downstairs, but it was hard to find at first, tucked down one of the lanes with signs that weren’t obvious. Agoda hadn’t told me that shower towels and toothbrushes cost extra.

I left my bag on the train from kyoto to osaka, and the staff helped me talk with JR staff so I could get it back. He explained clearly what I needed to do. The hostel was very clean too, with a nice atmosphere for relaxing, and I slept really well. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you!

It’s super affordable and close to shops and trains. The staff were warm and friendly, and they kindly let me leave my luggage for longer, which I really appreciated. The place was very clean, and the bedroom felt like climbing into a cozy, warm cave for a good night’s sleep. Thanks, guys!
