The common room is small, so most people socialize in the smoking area, but I still met some great people. They also host large groups of 15+, which can make it harder to interact. The staff welcomed me every time I came or went, and the beds and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I liked the location and the friendly vibe, enjoyed my stay, and would come back.
The staff were rude. I also couldn’t fully relax because of questions about cleanliness in the sleeping area. I can’t say what caused it, but I noticed a few things around the bed and linens that made me wonder about the hygiene standards. It may have been nothing serious, yet the uncertainty stayed with me throughout the stay and made it hard to sleep well.
The rooms were fine in the ways that matter, with good beds and a good shower, and the staff were really friendly and spoke English quite well. The rooms felt a little narrow, though, and bare walls made them a bit boring. It doesn’t really matter much. The hostel’s in a great spot, with everything nearby and easy to reach by metro.
The breakfast includes hot and cold drinks, a small serving of cereal with yoghurt, two pieces of toast, salad, pasta salad, and egg mayonnaise. The hostel itself is clean and well located for walking into the city. The beds weren’t properly made up, since there was no bottom sheet. When I tried to make mine, I ended up sleeping directly on the mattress topper, and the pillow was awful.
I liked having curtains for privacy, and both the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The location was great too. But having to make the bed yourself felt odd, especially after arriving at the end of a long day when you just want to lie down. I’d expect that to be part of the stay.
