Osaka Teikoku Hotel

The room was clean and spacious, and everyone on staff was friendly. Yamazaki-san was especially kind and patient when I struggled to speak Japanese, answering politely and respectfully. There's no microwave or washing machine at the hotel, but a Combini and Coin Laundry are close by. One inconvenience: each room gets only one card, so roommates going out separately need to coordinate who has it.

The rooms were well maintained and had a decent amount of space for three beds. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and I really appreciated their help while we were there. I'd be comfortable staying again.

We were happy with our stay, and the staff even arranged for our two rooms to be next to each other. Room 415 was bigger than 416, though both had twin single beds. The hotel had what we needed: hot water that could be switched between the sink and bathtub, a warm toilet seat, a fast lift with no crowds, complete toiletries, hair conditioner, a hair dryer, and AC. We brought our multiplug charger, which was handy. After a bad experience at Ikebukuro Royal hotel without AC, that mattered to us. A few things could be better. The mirror is tucked behind a rack where it's too dark, the toilet paper could be thicker, and the toilet is very small, especially for European men. I also hope the staff can speak more English. October laundry is just a one-minute walk away, which was convenient, and I think the hotel should mention it on its website so guests don't have to ask around. The Ramen shop a few steps down the road is super good and worth trying. We'd surely come back.

There are plenty of konbinis, places to eat, and a coin laundry nearby. Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi are only a few minutes away, as are major train stations. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. If I get to visit Osaka again, I'll choose Osaka Teikoku Hotel.
