TAKETO STAY Osakajo

Our room was spacious enough for three and kept clean and tidy. The staff were lovely and helped us out when our luggage was delayed from the airport, storing it for us. The hotel is a couple of minutes on foot from the station, and Osaka Castle is also within walking distance. Really nice stay, would recommend.

The rooms were clean and roomy, with pleasant balcony views. The beds were the most comfortable of all the hotels we stayed at in Japan, and having a washing machine and clothes rack was handy. The neighborhood has some interesting people, shops, businesses, and bars. That’s the only downside, though it also gave us a glimpse of local life, so it was fine. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. We checked in at noon without a charge, and when we needed fresh towels for both rooms, they provided them free. Everyone we spoke to in the lobby or by email was friendly and helpful, and email replies came almost immediately. Thank you!

After a week of living out of suitcases, the washing machine was a welcome sight. The bathroom and shower were spacious, there were basic cooking items, and keyless entry made coming and going simple. Check-in was easy too. The spot is handy, with the station and lots of local food nearby. It’s outside Osaka’s main tourist area, which gave us a chance to see more of everyday local life and avoid the crowds. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs, since the road noise can be noticeable at night.

The hosts were great about answering our questions and helping us extend our stay. When my mom got sick, they checked in on us to see how we were doing and if we needed anything. One of them even tried calling around to find a doctor. The hotel itself was clean and well organized, and the area was easy to explore, with plenty of food around. We met friendly locals at the standing bar next door, and Izakaya Toyo, the popular Netflix place, is right across the street. The stations are less than a five-minute walk away, with access to the Osaka loop line for getting around. It’s quiet and convenient, and we liked it enough to return for a longer stay.
