Toyoko Inn Osaka Abeno Tennoji

After checkout, we went to the adjacent space to pack our bags, thinking it would be okay since the lounge had been open and lit the night before. Staff gestured very rudely for us to leave. If there had been a sign, we wouldn’t have gone in, but their response made it feel as though we were the rude ones. Is that really right? At Toyoko Hotel in Tokyo and near Mount Fuji, I’ve always been satisfied, and other Toyoko hotels I’ve visited have a lounge next to reception for public use. Here, the staff were polite before check-in, then wouldn’t speak to us at all after checkout.

The room was so spacious that two people could walk back and forth in it. I’d stay at this branch again if I visit Osaka. It’s near Harukas, Donki, malls, and a 7/11 for ATM withdrawals. I’ve stayed at Toyoko Inns in Korea and other parts of Japan, but this branch definitely exceeded my expectations.

Tennoji station is a bit of a walk, and the route uphill to it is an incline. In the room, there was some dust on the TV remote and a slight damp smell in the toilet, though I got used to the smell after a while. It’s a decent size for one person, with air conditioning that isn’t central, so it isn’t locked to heater mode. The bed is on the firm side but acceptable. I liked my stay overall and wouldn’t mind choosing Toyoko Inn again.

We liked staying here, especially because the staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice. The rooms are small if you have luggage, but the zoo and park are very close, and several train lines are within walking distance.
