The construction site right beside the building kept our family awake. The place shook, and debris made things dirty; my husband was coughing throughout. Paying this much to stay next to a noisy dust bowl felt unreasonable. The hotel should tell people about the nearby construction on booking sites so they can decide before reserving. Management just said it was out of their control, though giving guests that information is within their control. Other problems added to it. We asked for kitchenware to cook and got deflection. Cleaning was below average, as others have said. When full-time staff cleaned, it was better, but the housekeeper we had did nothing. The desk wasn't staffed during office hours, especially early evenings, and even staff on duty weren't proactive. The response was always that they had to ask the manager. Management is lacking, and nothing seemed to be done to make guests comfortable despite knowing about the work. We also had a noisy neighbor, and the soundproofing was poor. The hotel wasn't full, so an accommodating manager could have placed guests farther apart, but they put people next to each other, perhaps to reduce work and focus on one floor. It didn't feel like guests' interests came first. Construction ran from dusk to dawn, and the neighbors' noise at night kept disturbing our sleep. We were insomniacs. If the hotel had been full, I could understand, but it wasn't. The toilets smelled like urine, and I suspect the building pipes aren't cleaned routinely. This operation felt lazy, with terrible cleaning, staff who weren't proactive or accommodating, and poor management. With the right programs and systems, much of this hotel could be automated. Administration and management seem easier to automate than cleaning, which would take longer. If everything is beyond your control and there's nothing you can do, what can you do that a machine can't?

The yksi team made our late arrival easy by sending instructions for getting into the unit, and we completed check-in the next day. We had a wonderful week here. The unit is spacious by Japan standards and has excellent amenities. Slippers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, a hairbrush, laundry pods, and more are available downstairs for self-service. The heater, microwave, washer and dryer, and hair dryer all worked well, and the room has detailed appliance instructions. The yksi staff were polite and accommodating. They said their usual cleaning schedule was every fourth day, but offered to clean twice during our stay, two days apart. The location is convenient and fairly quiet, about a ten-minute walk from each of two stations. There are restaurants, a few konbinis, and a supermarket nearby. We loved our stay and hope to return one day.

Getting an early check-in was a huge help, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well equipped. It’s reasonably priced and conveniently placed for metro lines, with Osaka castle within walking distance and no noise. This accommodation is simply AMAZING. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to everyone.

This is a budget friendly option with good value and a very convenient location, in the city centre with transport nearby and Osaka castle close. If those are your priorities when choosing an apartment in Osaka, I’d definitely consider it. It’s a “Swiss knife” style apartment, with the amenities and facilities packed into a small space. That means you don’t pay for space you don’t need in the centre of a big Japanese city.

There are shops and restaurants nearby, and a Metro/JR station is under a four-minute walk away. The neighborhood itself is quiet and away from the tourist areas, which made it a lovely place to rest after long days out. A hidden gem in Osaka City!
