Hostel Muchuu

My visit stood out because of how I connected with the owners. I have nothing but praise for them. The house and location weren't really what made the stay for me.

The building has an old-style house feel, and the shared space has a microwave, refrigerator, and kitchen. There's a shower but no bathtub, and a washlet. The washing machine and dryer are free, both drum type. It cost 5000 yen per person for one night without meals; the two of us shared a room and paid 10000 yen. I stayed here on a walking pilgrimage on May 1, 2025, a Thursday. Reservations seem to be made by email or LINE account. I registered the LINE account and booked through chat; the official Instagram account lists both contact details, accessible from the website section. The townscape around the inn was lovely, and I'd like to come back when it's not raining so I can enjoy the sights. I stayed three nights and found it comfortable, thanks in part to the kind, friendly staff. There was a shower and washing machine, and the spacious, clean kitchen seemed ideal for a longer stay. A café on the first floor added a nice old-fashioned Japanese atmosphere.

The receptionist gave us a map and useful tips on Ozu's sights and good food. Our triple room, shared by two of us, was clean, comfortable, and relaxing. It had air conditioning and a kitchen, with free parking and a washer and dryer. There's a small café on the first floor. The location works well for visiting Ozu's old town or catching the ferry at Yawatahama Port, and the value was excellent. We'd definitely stay again (^O^)
