The rooms are fine for sleeping, but mine smelled of cigarette smoke. The toilets are shared and kept clean. You may still need to wipe up any mess left by the last person, but they're generally comfortable unless especially dirty. They provide disinfectant for the seat, which is handy if you're particular about toilet cleanliness. There's a dining hall with several menu choices, though breakfast doesn't seem to be available. That was a concern for me. I first booked without breakfast, then added it later and chose between a Western or Japanese style.

I felt a bit like I was on a school trip, since the large bath and toilets were shared and the dining hall was so cheap. But I had a very comfortable stay, and everything was kept clean. My single room had no private bathroom or toilet, and was cleaned daily. The dining hall was a nice surprise. Lunch was 500 yen with coffee, and in the evening there was an 800 yen omakase set. The food looked as good as the photo and tasted great. If I lived nearby, I'd eat here instead of going to a restaurant. It was such good value that I'd definitely stay again.

The room was small, but it had a TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, and neatly prepared bedding. It was perfectly adequate for a business trip or just a place to sleep. I arrived after 11 PM, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout. I was able to relax in the bath and sleep soundly, and I'd happily come back. What made the stay especially nice was being able to use the large public bath. I had checked ahead and thought it closed at 11 PM, so I expected to just take a shower. At check-in, the front desk told me it was open until midnight, so I hurried over and was glad I did. I wonder if they extend the hours during Golden Week and other long holidays. I was told the bath water cools after a set time, though the showers are available 24 hours. Being able to shower there at any hour is convenient, since using a hairdryer or showering late in a guest room could disturb others. The bath also eased the fatigue in my legs from walking. I stayed one night for an event. The nearest station is around a 10-minute walk, and the reasonable price during Golden Week was the main reason I booked. There are no bathrooms or toilets in the guest rooms, but toilets are a short way down the corridor. I didn't try the facilities on other floors. The floor I stayed on had a women's-only toilet, which I used, and the shared washrooms and toilets were clean. I booked room-only this time and didn't try the dining room, but I saw it opens at 5:30 AM, so I'd like to try it next time.

The room was a little dated, but it was clean, and the food was the real reason we'd come back. My husband and I stayed two nights from January 11 while sightseeing in Osaka. Breakfast was included in the plan, and we figured it was a good deal but didn't expect much from the meal. The first breakfast was so tasty that we decided to order the restaurant's omakase dinner on our second night. Everything was delicious and there was plenty of it. My spouse even brought some rice and minced meat cutlet back to the room for a late-night snack. We'd like to stay here regularly when we're in Osaka.
