Hotel Premium Green Hills

The room felt old and outdated, with very few amenities, and the drawers were so small that storage was awkward. It wasn't clean enough, the air felt stagnant, and noise from neighboring rooms came through the thin walls. It was also uncomfortably hot with no way to adjust the temperature. The air was dry, and there was no humidifier. On top of that, the front desk staff behaved poorly and left a bad impression from the start. I had a very disappointing stay and won't return or recommend it.

The room was very nice, and you can walk to just about anything you might want. The bus and subway are a block away. Getting to the hotel from JR Sendai station is possible underground if you can find the exits for Aoba-dori station. There was only one plug in the room, hidden behind the TV, which I had to move. I wasn't going to touch whatever was under the nightstand, and I know my way around electricity.

The pleasant staff were working hard, and the location is good. That's why I gave it two stars. I paid twice what I paid the previous day in Tokyo for a brand-new hotel, and this place ranks near the bottom of the many hotels I've stayed in across Japan over three decades. It feels like stepping back into a 1990s business hotel, with little to justify the premium price. Updated carpet and wallpaper don't make it premium. The amenities are sparse, the room heating and cooling can't be controlled, and the bathroom looks straight out of the 80s. The wall is cracked and the wallpaper is hanging.

The hotel is in a convenient spot near Sendai station, shopping centers, convenience stores, and other facilities. The room was tidy and comfortable, just right for two, though a family with children might need more space. One staff member did her best to speak English even though I can speak a little nihongo. We were warmly welcomed and got good service.
