Hotel Vista Sendai

The onsen was the real problem for me. The floor was so slippery I fell hard on my first step, and there were extra steps into the pool that I couldn’t see. The water was extremely turbulent, which they called “white-ion,” and I couldn’t see the edge or tell how deep it was. I came away with a bruised cheek and ego. They should add non-slip mats, improve the lighting, or put up a warning about the steps. It felt like an accident waiting to happen. The rest of the stay was pretty decent: my room was spacious, the bed comfortable enough, and the AC was good. Staff were always smiling and quick to help with directions or extra towels. Fine for a basic stay, but skip the onsen unless surprise aquatic parkour sounds fun.

We stayed two nights in a single-bed room for the two of us and were pleasantly surprised. It was a corner room with windows on two sides, and there was enough room for four suitcases. The bathroom and toilet were separate, too. Sendai station is only a few steps away. I hadn’t expected much from our short visit, so I didn’t take photos, but I was wrong about the place. Comfortable, convenient, and great value. We really enjoyed it and would happily return.

The common bath was small, and the water didn’t seem very clean. The curtain also let some light through. The rest worked well for us: the hotel is close to the station but on a quiet street, and we didn’t have noise issues. The layout was smart, with the toilet and bathing area separate and the washbasin out in the main room, which is handy for more than one person. The front desk also helped arrange delivery of our luggage to the next hotel.

I booked through the hotel website and got a much cheaper rate, plus I could check in an hour early. The location is handy, right by Yodobashi Sendai, which has almost everything, and very close to Sendai station. The room itself wasn’t too small, though the bathroom took up so much space that opening a large suitcase in the bedroom was difficult.
