Ryokan Otamaya

Hello! I’m hoping to book a stay, but the website isn’t working. Who should I contact about it?

We stayed here in July 2025 with our dog and newborn daughter. Everyone was so kind, from the friendly lobby staff to the dining room ladies who made us a generous breakfast and the cleaning staff who kept the old building so spotless. I planned another Sendai trip for September and booked again at checkout, thinking nowhere could be better. Then today I got a call saying the hotel would close before our reservation date. Having to book somewhere else is disappointing, but I’m especially sad that I won’t get to see the staff again. I’m quietly hoping they’ll renovate and keep the same team. I sincerely hope everyone stays healthy.

We chose this inn because we have a one-year-old and wanted a Japanese-style room. The building is old, but everyone was kind, and our child seemed to enjoy the stay. Breakfast was especially generous: large portions, unlimited rice refills, coffee afterward, and food our child could eat. They really looked after us, and the place made us feel at home despite its age. It’s walkable from Sendai Station, though a little far. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Sendai. Lots of guests seem to bring pets, but I’d recommend it to families with little kids too.

We spent two nights here with our pet and felt at ease dining together. The food was all delicious and satisfying, and our pet settled in and enjoyed the stay. From the time we booked, the staff treated us with real kindness and made us feel at home.
