The staff would come by while we were eating and obnoxiously offer to take photos, apparently as a way to tell us we had to put away our dishes and cups. The food was quite bad, and the cafeterias felt very cheap. If you're looking for a traditional ryokan experience, this isn't it.

The buffet was only okay, and the dining room looked carelessly put together and cheap. The place is rundown and didn't feel worth what we paid. There was black mold in the toilet water tank, which was slowly filling up. The onsen was all right but small, and the fence beside the outdoor bath was collapsing. Two shower heads wouldn't turn off. I wonder how the hotel can keep hosting guests without more investment, or whether it's worth saving. Are other Ooedo hotels about the same?

Customer service was awesome. The staff did their very best to communicate in English. Our Japanese-style room was old but clean and tidy, and we liked it. The public bath was quite small, though, and the outdoor bath was closed during our visit. The buffet breakfast and dinner were good, with lots of variety and everything tasted great.

A really great place to stay, and one of the best hotels in the Ikaho area. I think it's underrated, since Japanese people don't seem to give anyone five stars. 😆

I stopped by this onsen after going SUP on Lake Shima. It warmed me up, though it felt a little cozy and expensive.
