Dinner was 1000 yen for a set teishoku, and I thought it was well worth the extra cost. My single room without meals was 4320 yen, and they also put an onigiri out for me in the morning. The staff had made a big one for me and the other henro, which was waiting at the front desk when I got up. That's familiar from minshukus, but I hadn't expected it at a business hotel. Hotel Mild calls itself a business hotel, though it feels more like a lively minshuku crossed with a college residence hall. It's modern, clean, and well equipped, and the staff are both caring and professional. The dining room serves good meals for about 1000 yen, the shared PC area came in handy, and there were plenty of washers and dryers. My room was very satisfactory, and they have a 200V charging point for electric vehicles. A really pleasant surprise.

Dinner was plentiful, and the price seemed fair. The Wi-Fi setup was the weak point: it was either the "free passport" thing or 500 yen a day. Otherwise, it was OK.

The total was 5832¥ for two meals. The food wasn't very good, and the bed wasn't great either. The place seemed a bit old and felt damp, though it was a rainy day. There was no Wi-Fi.

Getting to the hotel the first time was difficult. The access route is a narrow passage, and driving through it would be tough unless you're used to it or have a kei car. Clearer directions and parking information would have improved my opinion of the place. Inside, it's a typical older-style business hotel, with the particular smell you often get in old hotel rooms. It was a little cheaper than nearby business hotels, and the food was pretty ordinary, but after eating out for a while, the home-style flavor was welcome. The cleaning and upkeep were thorough.

They give pilgrims rice balls when they leave, which was a real help. I stayed after visiting temple 65, Sankaku-ji, while walking toward the special temple 13, Senryu-ji. Even though it's a business hotel, breakfast and dinner are included, the portions are filling, and the cost is about the same as a pilgrim's guesthouse. I think it's a good fit for walking pilgrims, and I'd recommend it.
