The sunset views were the best part of our camping stop with friends, and the whole place felt so calm and restful. We stayed last August, and it was a lovely way to finish our Japan trip. The onsen was clean and comfortable, just what we wanted after being outdoors. Everyone working there was warm and helpful, and they spoke English, which made things much easier for us as tourists. I’d happily return to Yamamizuki.

We spent three days here and found lots to explore nearby, from temples and beaches to the riverside. Even in the rain, the place felt cozy and we had a great stay. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The stone Onsen looks out over the coast and Shimanto River, an incredible view. We booked a tent farther away at first, but Marcello kindly let us move closer to get a better view. He was an excellent, helpful host. We ordered dinner and breakfast, though you can bring your own food to BBQ. A peaceful base for exploring the southern coast of Shikoku, highly recommended.

Being up high meant we could see the stars so clearly, which made the stay feel extra special. The beach is within walking distance, and there are beautiful shrines nearby, so it’s a great spot if you’re into the outdoors and the coast. The onsen was clean, and there were bug traps all around. A very sweet man heated it the traditional way. The manager was kind, spoke fluent English, and gave us guidance. I really enjoyed my time at yamamizuki. 🌺

We stayed two nights at a glamping site, and it was worth it for that view of Shimanto river from reception alone. My husband and I had a really enjoyable time. The cooking things we needed were already there, which was handy for someone like me who wanted to try camping without bringing equipment. You might want insect spray or repellent, though. 😅 The private ofuro is only available at night and needs to be booked when you check in. If you want a particular time, I’d suggest arriving early. I got the sunset slot and had no complaints, the view was beautiful. There’s also a toilet in the public bath. I heard about an observatory deck but didn’t get to see it. The staff were helpful and always greeted us with a smile. Well done to Yamamizuki Team, led by Marcelo-san. This was easily my best stay in Japan. ❤️

We loved waking up early in camp to watch the sunrise, after seeing the river meet the ocean and the sunset the evening before. We could stargaze from there too. Quiet fireworks are allowed near the camp, and we set some off without making loud noise. Our sea view glamping site had a spectacular outlook. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the whole campsite, including the private onsen, was very clean. I imagine a sunset soak would be amazing. We ordered BBQ for dinner, with everything prepared, and the food was good. The vegetables were especially nice, and I think they came from the place itself or nearby farmers, a great way to support locals. There’s cooking equipment too if BBQ isn’t your thing. We had a hearty breakfast before leaving. Definitely recommend staying a night and putting your worries aside.
