The view was great, and both the room and facilities were spotless. It’s very good value, and I’d like to come back. I brought everything I needed and didn’t have any other trouble, but the tap water isn’t safe to drink. I think getting here in a regular car or on a large motorcycle would be difficult.

The bed sheets had a strange black powder on them, the bathroom floor was covered with hairs from previous guests, and the refrigerator was too dirty to put anything in. I could also hear people in the next room complaining about a cockroach. There were no bath towels or tissue boxes, and no hair dryer either. Those missing basics were a fatal flaw. It seems the owner manages the place alone, so I can understand that cleaning may not be thorough, but guests should be prepared for that.

The room was clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the view was nice. A friendly cat greeted me too. I booked on the spot for one night without meals, but some parts of the route seemed easy to get lost on, and arriving there for the first time at night could be hard. The road winds uphill, is bumpy, and has places where two vehicles can’t pass. The climb made me expect a good view. There’s a microwave and kettle, but the bathroom water isn’t potable. There’s no hair dryer, yukata, bath towels, or WiFi, and the AU signal was very weak. No supermarkets nearby sell bento boxes, so buy food in advance.

After a difficult drive up a steep, unpaved mountain road without streetlights, we arrived and rang the bell at the owner’s house. We got a key and went to our apartment-like room, but the old key wouldn’t open the door easily. Once inside, we found needle-like plant bits all over our shoes, pants, tights, and knit sweater. We had to throw everything away. They stayed itchy and painful no matter how much we tried to remove them, and washing didn’t get them out. My husband and I were on vacation, so it was such a shame. There was toothpaste left in a cup by a previous guest, and the sheets and futon smelled bad enough that we couldn’t sleep. I really don’t think anyone should stay here.
