For the price, it’s a decent place. The dorms were small but clean, and one staff member spoke English. Amenities were decent and available. Be careful with the kerosene heaters because of ventilation.

The breakfast was disappointing. There was no staff in the dining room, and we had to microwave the boxed meal ourselves from the rack. The tea and miso soup were instant too, made by adding hot water from a pot. I chose the plan with meals, but it would’ve been wiser to book without meals and eat out. It seems one person is running the place, so that would probably ease their workload as well. The location is convenient, close to the station and across from the biggest supermarket in town. The small building has laundry and a microwave. The shared toilet, bath, and washbasin were well kept. We were given a corner room that was more spacious than expected and comfortable.
For breakfast, you microwave whatever is in the dining room refrigerator. Dinner had just two dishes, grilled atka mackerel (?) and a pork sukiyaki-style dish. The miso soup at both meals was instant, made by adding hot water. A western-style single room with two meals costs 7,200 yen. The hotel is near the station, with a Fukuhara supermarket across the street.
I got stranded in Shintoku when bad weather meant the train from Saporro didn’t stop in Tomamu, so I stayed here. They were friendly even though I arrived late. Don’t expect luxury, but the price reflects that.
It was convenient being close to the station, and the room was quite clean. I thought it was good.
