Hotel Associa Shizuoka

It felt very safe walking to the market at night, and the hotel is right by the train and bus stations, supermarket, restaurants, tourist information, and convenience store. The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved the huge lobby and its artistic bamboo lighting, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. I love Shizuoka City and will definitely come back to stay here. I’ll recommend it to my family and friends too.

My corner room was bright and airy, with a very comfortable bed and excellent cleaning. It did feel a little cold and dry, though. The Associa Hotel is very close to Shizuoka Station, which makes getting around Shizuoka incredibly convenient. I highly recommend it if you’re visiting.

The location is hard to beat, with direct access to the station, and the views from the upper floors are really good. Breakfast was delightful, and there’s a lounge where you can get free coffee from 7am to 9pm. The receptionist who checked me in was friendly and very helpful. It’s an upgraded business hotel, clean, with average to somewhat small rooms that are functional and totally sufficient in my opinion. Like in almost every hotel in Japan, the carpet feels pretty gross and unhygienic. They do provide slippers. I’d definitely recommend it if you need a place to stay in Shizuoka.

We loved our four nights here before heading to Tokyo. The JR station is right beside the hotel, and there are lots of tasty places to eat nearby. Buses to popular areas leave from right in front of the entrance. Service was good, and housekeeping was very attentive. The coffee is freshly brewed and free. There’s also a laundry room in the lobby where you can wash and dry your clothes using notes, so there’s no hassle with changing or saving coins. One of our best stays in Shizuoka, Japan. ❤️
