Hotel Bay Gulls

The lobby plays Chinese music, and the hotel seems geared toward Chinese tour groups. The room wasn't dirty, but it wasn't clean either. Everything felt cramped, from the room and bed to the toilet and shower. I wouldn't recommend it. Look at other hotels.

The bedding was pretty upsetting. Instead of white duvet covers, they use white flat sheets, and I doubt the dark duvet covers get washed for every guest. The pillow smelled bad too. I'm on the 10th floor, where the water pressure is very weak and barely more than a trickle. The bathroom is tiny and has no hangers. The Wi-Fi and telephone both don't work. Is this really supposed to be a five-star hotel? It feels like a joke.

The carpets were stained, the halls had no air conditioning and felt steamy hot, and the room was tiny. Breakfast was supposed to run from 7 to 10, but when we arrived at 9:40 a.m., everything had already been put away and we were told we'd missed it. We'd paid upfront for two nights after our flight was cancelled so we could stay in the room that day. At checkout, a whole day early, they tried to charge us a 7,000 yen early cancellation fee. We spent 10 minutes arguing about why we'd have to pay that for checking out a night early. Ridiculous. The only bright spot was the very lovely woman at check-in. Terrible!

The 14th-floor sky restaurant has a stunning city view, though the food was decent and the menu may be limited. There’s also a bar for unwinding. I stayed at Hotel Bay Gulls for two nights and found the room comfortable, with a nice view of the surroundings. Being close to Rinku Premium malls and outlets made shopping easy. Vending machines, laundry facilities, and currency exchange were handy. Knowing some Japanese could help, since not many people in the area speak English. I had a pleasant stay and would give Hotel Bay Gulls 4 out of 5.
