Fairfield by Marriott Gifu Takayama Shirakawa Go

We had a pleasant, quiet stay in this very nice, clean hotel. Our room with two single beds was quite small, but had everything we needed for a couple of days. The staff were friendly and answered all our questions. They had a translator machine to help us communicate, which was so cute. There aren't many restaurants nearby, just a small sushi place and, I think, an udon place around the area.

The room was clean, new, and perfectly adequate for a night. The neighborhood is quiet, though there are only a few cafes and restaurants nearby. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, just a small kiosk with snacks and instant meals or soup.

Everything felt new, and the rooms were very clean. The shower temperature was just right. It’s a little way out of town, but that suited us since it was so peaceful and good for a proper rest. There’s free coffee in the canteen, plus vending machines and reasonably priced laundry machines.

For an overnight stop, the basic furnishings were enough, and the room was clean and hygienic. It was quiet apart from the bathroom exhaust fan. The hotel is right by the motorway, so getting there is easy, and I thought it was good value.
