There were some nice extras: the location is excellent, just steps from the train station and city center, and the Onsen is free to use with breakfast included. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly. They also have lots of free amenities at reception, including toothbrushes, hair brushes, facial moisturizer masks, wipes for glasses and screens, shower sponges, and razors. The rooms were small by European standards. It was hard to open luggage anywhere except on the bed, and two large suitcases couldn’t be opened at the same time. The bathroom was fairly small too, more like one you’d see on a cruise ship.

The welcome bar had a great range of local alcoholic drinks, and the hot bath area was nice. It’s very close to the bus and train station. Reception staff were friendly, fluent in English, and helpful. I also liked being able to choose the firmness and thickness of my pillow. I love this hotel and would stay here again.

The staff were very friendly, and both breakfast and happy hour were good. The hotel is good value for money overall. The room could have been cleaner, though: there were a few hairs on the floor and bed, dusty remotes, and rust stains in a few places in the bath.

I’m a fan of Super Hotel, and this one is highly recommended. It’s a five-minute walk from both Takayama Station and the bus station. The room is thoughtfully designed and tight on space, but works perfectly and is more than enough for one person. The breakfast is great and very generous. There’s an Onsen bath with separate time slots for men and women. Free alcohol is available Friday through Sunday only.

I’m staying here for the second time and am really impressed by the service at this location. The ground manager, I think that’s his role haha, was very helpful and thoughtful. It’s about a five-minute walk from Takayama Hotel. There’s an Onsen and laundry, and the dryer is free, which is especially handy in cold weather when you need to dry jackets. The drinks machine is free all day, with coffee, tea, iced tea, and soft drinks.
