The wifi was bad!

I had a delicious breakfast: Uonuma koshihikari rice, miso soup, grilled fish, and plenty of sides, with a complimentary coffee afterward. The single Western-style room was comfortable and had a TV and table. Seems like a good base for sightseeing or business.

The dining area is delicious too, and I loved the sleepy feeling of lying on a futon on the tatami. The bathroom and toilet are separate. Tonight I'm back at Hotel & Dining Shimizu, where I've stayed before. This was a last-minute booking, so only a 12-tatami room was left, which was a bit disappointing. I won't be able to have breakfast tomorrow, but breakfast here was amazing when I had it before. If you're in Tokamachi, check it out.

There were several disappointments. Something on the guest room tatami looked like blood, and the stairs were dirty. There was no hand soap in the room, and I wish they'd provide some. Breakfast tasted good, but no one explained that rice refills were free, and the rice itself was a little sour. In winter, the hotel's parking area apparently isn't cleared of snow, so I had to use a paid multi-storey lot. They gave me a small discount, but it still came to almost 1,000 yen per night. I hope they work on these issues.
