Apa Hotel Ginza Takaracho Tokyo Yaesu Minamiguchi

We were on the 12th floor and got a nice view of the city streets. The rooms are small, but that’s pretty standard in Japan. The station is close and has a direct line to Narita, and there’s a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart nearby too. Check-in was easy and the room had the basics. Breakfast is available, just keep in mind it isn’t included in the price.

The customer service staff were great, but I’d only suggest this place if saving money matters more than comfort and things working well. After staying at a lot of APA hotels around Japan, this was by far the smallest and cheapest I’ve tried. The rooms felt about 20% smaller than an already-small standard APA room, and seemed better suited to solo guests than two people. The bathroom barely had standing space for one. A TV bolted into the desk took up half the counter, and the walls felt paper thin, with every hallway noise echoing through. There were lots of little annoyances: bad pillows, small towels, outlets that wouldn’t hold a cord’s weight, a TV that wouldn’t turn off, a shower curtain that let water onto the bathroom floor, and a fridge that barely cooled. There’s one elevator and waits could be long. The room was just too cheaply built in too many ways. I stayed in December 2025 and this was one of APA’s lesser offerings.

After five nights here, I went to Kyoto for two nights and asked if I could have the same room or another corner room when I returned. They couldn’t guarantee it, but today I checked in to a corner room two floors higher. I was really thankful 🙏

It’s close to the train station, but the hotel is very small and has little luggage storage. I had a check-in booked for the next day and still wasn’t allowed to leave my bags there, so I decided to cancel the booking.
