Shinagawa-Shuku Guest House & Tours - Hostel

Sai took me on a great walk around the area, sharing some history and pointing out places to see and eat. The staff were lovely and made me feel at home, and they had coffee and waffles for 100 yen. The facilities were small but well cared for. I’d happily stay at Shinagawa Guesthouse again.

The location is ideal, and the staff were lovely. For the price, the place was about what I expected, perfectly fine. The one annoyance was the big fluffy blanket, which wouldn’t stay on the sheet, so I kept having to find it in my sleep. I’d use something else. Nothing else caused a major problem.

I needed to stay later because my flight wasn’t until the afternoon, and they let me extend for a small fee. The staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful, and suggested places to visit nearby. The rooms were clean and felt quite private. One of my best hostel stays. Thanks again ❤️

I was only passing through for a night before continuing to Morioka/Tohoku. For my first night ever in Japan, the place felt quaint and welcoming. The hosts were friendly and spoke both English and Japanese. It was clean and pleasant, with no fancy extras, just what I needed. The beds were a bit hard, but the value made that easy to accept. Although there were many rooms, I didn’t hear snoring from other guests. There’s also an authentic Izakaya next door with amazing food and cold beer. I highly recommend staying here.
