Hotel Livemax Akihabara Kita

A simple, inexpensive choice that worked well for me as a solo traveler. The area is quiet and away from the main streets, so I slept well. Akihabara station is about a 10-minute walk, but I had no other complaints.

This was the worst experience I've had dealing with a hotel. I meant to book June 4-10, but the confirmation email showed July 4-10. I emailed them the next day as soon as I noticed and tried to sort it out. They wouldn't correct the dates or let me pay a fee to fix the booking. They already had my money and didn't seem to care. I've never felt so let down by someone. In the end, I'm glad I didn't stay there. I even wondered if they might have taken the loose change from my pockets while I slept.

I tried to use my own glass to get water in the lobby, but a staff member said no. Why? It seemed no different from using one of their paper cups. The place didn't feel welcoming.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and the room was fairly clean apart from a couple of hairs in the bathroom and dust on the TV. It was also walkable to the train station. But we were put in smoking rooms even though we're highly allergic to smoke. We asked to move and never got a response. There were air purifiers, scent products, and spray, but the smoke smell was still very strong. The windows wouldn't open either. Once, no staff were around, so we rang the bell. The stay was just okay, and I wouldn't recommend it.
