Hotel Rocks

I booked a non-smoking room, but the room I was given smelled of smoke. When I asked at the front desk, they said they'd prepared a non-smoking room for me, even though there was a sign asking guests not to smoke on the bed. They had no other room available. The room was right in front of the check-in counter, and with the fan off I could hear people at the counter and outside. The smell started making me feel sick, so I put Carmex in my nostrils to block it enough to sleep.

This was a horrible experience. The price posted on the site was way lower than what I paid, almost half. The property was also misrepresented as a hotel, when it was a sleazy love motel that rents rooms by the hour. It was dirty, the sheets were plastic and kept sliding off, and the bathrooms were extremely cramped. The walls were paper thin, so I could hear people talking and watching TV, and there were huge gaps above and below the door. Nothing was provided, no water or coffee, and the internet didn't work. I also didn't like being treated like a kid about the key. They wouldn't let me leave the property with it, even to go next door for coffee. Every time I left, I had to hand in the key and check in again to get it back. I tried to cancel and pay only for the first night so I could go somewhere else, but they wouldn't allow it because of their “policy.” Be wary. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

The room smelled like an ashtray, which was the one downside. The hotel was clean, the location was good, and the staff were really helpful and friendly. I'd stay here again.

The booking said luggage service was included, but when I arrived the front desk told me it wasn't available. What a disappointment.
